Founded in 1899, NAU is proudly celebrates a long commitment to educating undergraduate and graduate students. Accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools, the university values and promotes an ethnically rich and diverse university community and graduates who are prepared to contribute to the social, economic, and environmental needs of a changing world. It inspires students to become active citizens, leaders, visionaries, and problem solvers with an understanding of global issues. Northern Arizona University’s beautiful 738 acre campus promotes sustainable practices including progressive recycling efforts, shuttle buses powered with biodiesel, and has completed the construction of three new energy-efficient buildings certified by the U.S. Green Building Council.

NAU is located in the city of Flagstaff in the State of Arizona. The city is the cultural hub of northern Arizona, with a bustling music, art, and entertainment scene, great restaurants, and the best coffee shops south of Seattle. At 7,000 feet, Flagstaff enjoys four seasons. Winters average 108 inches of snow a year, yet the average annual days of sunshine is 288.
